A mixed media movie is int he works called Dynamic Duo that will tell the origin story of Dick Grayson and Jason Todd as Robins.
Deadline is reporting that DC Studios and Warner Bros Pictures Animation have teamed up for the new film with Matt Reeves’ 6th & Idaho and animation house Swaybox for the new project.
Swaybox is a new animation house from New Orleans that is using a technology that mixes elements of CGI animation, stop-motion, and live-action real-time performance.
“I have wanted to make a film with Arthur and Swaybox for many years, and for that film to be Dynamic Duo, an incredibly special and unique Batman and Robin story for families, is a dream,” said Reeves of the news.
Despite Reeves’ involvement with the film, this project is not connected to The Batman or The Penguin.
Matthew Aldrich is scripting the film with Reeves, James Gunn, Peter Safran, Michael Uslan, and Theresa Andersson. Mintz producing.
The story will follow Dick Grayson and Jason Todd as friends who call themselves the Dynamic Duo, sharing their dreams of better lives, before their eventual fates with Batman.
No word yet on a release date for Dynamic Duo.
